How the Hydrologix® GRS Works In the Grease Interceptor

> back
Resorts and large hotels have large capacity grease interceptors like the one shown below. This is an in-ground collection tank for the FOG (fats, oils and grease) wastewater from their restaurant kitchens, and is where the Hydrologix® GRS does its job.
  • Sleeping microbes & micronutrients are stored in innoculator 1 tank
  • Microbes passed to the innoculator 2 “brewing” tank will become fully active/awake in 4 hours – ready to digest FOG
  • Active microbes are injected into FOG towers where they cling to biofilm and begin to digest FOG
  • Air supply moves FOG through biofilm, bringing food to microbes & providing them oxygen needed to multiply rapidly

For large capacity grease interceptors of 6000 gallons or more, the control cabinet is typically like the one shown below. This sophisticated telemetry enables remote monitoring by maintenance staff and even local water authorities if required.

For smaller sites, a much smaller cabinet typically 9" x 3' x 1' is all that is needed.
